Working hours

  • Flexibility:
    • Working hours from Monday to Friday between 06.00 and 20.00.
    • By arrangement, working hours can be extended to a maximum of 11.00 p.m. and working on Saturdays is possible.
    • Adaptation of daily working hours to operational and personal needs.
  • Framework:
    • The working time regulations govern working hours and absences.
    • In general, the obligation to record working hours and/or absences in the TimeManagement application passes.
      Note: Employees from salary class 21 and professors do not have to record working hours or absences. Academic staff are exempt from recording working hours, but must record absences. Employees in salary class 18 and above can agree to trust-based working hours, but must continue to record absences.
    • 42 hours per week at full employment level.
    • If necessary for organizational reasons, working hours are based on fixed times.

Home office

  • Support for employees:
    • Flexible working model within the scope of operational possibilities for a better work-life balance.
    • Possibility to commute outside rush hours.
  • Framework:
    • Regular home office must be approved.
    • The line manager is responsible for the organization of work, including home office.
    • Residence in Switzerland: Home office should not exceed 40% of contractual working hours.
    • Residence abroad: Home office should not exceed 20% of contractual working hours (for social security purposes), up to 40% of working hours is possible depending on the country of residence.
